Eligibility and Selection Criteria


đź”…The eligibility of candidates will be based on a performance in Board Examinations within the cut-off threshold (top 1%) for State or Central Board Examination in the year 2020 at Class XII level as listed in Table 1 and/ or b) performance in any of the specified Competitive Examinations within stipulated cut off ranks and c) recipient of various
scholarships and medals (Table 2 & Table 3).

đź”…The eligible candidate must be already enrolled into a valid and regular degree level course (No correspondence course) in Natural/ Basic sciences within the scope of INSPIRE Scholarship (Table 4) at any UGC recognized College or University or National Institute in India.
Receipt of Eligibility Note or Eligibility Certificate on INSPIRE Scholarship
from respective Board is not mandatory criterion to apply and also do not
guarantee the Scholarship. Moreover, top 1% Cut-off of previous year (2019) given in Table 1 would only be used for guidelines purpose. In the case of receiving more than 10,000 eligible applications in thegiven year, the selection will be on the basis of Board inclusive model within the available number of Scholarships in that year as it has been accepted and implemented for the selection of students passed out in the previous years.The selection will be subject to evaluation of each completed online application based on the above eligibility criteria including finalization of actual top 1% cut-off of Class 12th examination 2020 for each Board. The following points may be observed by the applicant very carefully.

  • (i) Incomplete or wrongly filled up application or application with lack of essential documents will summarily be rejected.
  • (ii) The applicant’s own valid and functional email address must be used for submission of theOn-line application. The status of the application will be informed only through On-line portal to the applicant.
  • (iii) DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION. Please ensure that all aspects of the application are correct before submitting. No claims shall be entertained in case of incomplete or non-submitted application.
  • (iv) Any legal proceedings in respect to any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and / or application can be lodged only in Delhi Courts/ Tribunals/ Forums and Delhi Courts / Tribunal/ Forums only shall have the sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any case / dispute

➢ All Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna (KVPY) Fellows, National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Scholars, International Olympiad Medalists and Jagadis Bose
National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) Scholars.

Other National Level Competitive Examinations for Admission to

➢ 4 years BS or 5 years Integrated M.Sc. programs in Basic & Natural Sciences at all Indian
Institute of Technology (IITs) within top 10,000 rank in JEE (Advanced)

➢ All Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISERs), National Institute of Science
Education & Research (NISER) students following eligibility criteria indicated at Table-1 or
Table-2.
➢ Department of Atomic Energy – Centre for Basic Science (DAE – CBS) students following
eligibility criteria indicated at Table-1 or Table-2.

➢ University at Under-graduate or Integrated M. Sc. program in Natural Sciences and Basic
Sciences following National Level Competitive Examinations indicated at Table 2.
